• Summer travel interest to Europe is on the decline
Popular tourist destinations Venice (#8 in 2015) and Amsterdam (#9 in 2015) did not make this year’s Top 10, while Rome (#3 in 2015) dropped 6 spots to #10 in 2016
• Significant increase in interest to Mexico in 2016
Ranking #1 in 2016, Cancun is up 4 spots from 2015. Newcomers Playa Del Carmen (#4 in 2016) and Puerto Vallarta (#9 in 2016) are also in the Top 10 for this year
• Decrease in travel interest to Canada compared to last year
Niagara Falls (#3 in 2015) and Vancouver (#7 in 2015) did not make the Top 10 in 2016
• Despite November 2015 terrorist attack, Paris remains a Top 3 Summer destination
• Americans are paying on average $22/night less this summer on their hotel stays compared to last summer
