Historically, hotel rates in Washington D.C. are at their lowest of the year in winter. The trivago Hotel Price Index recorded an average nightly rate of $204 in January 2016, second only to December 2016 when rates dropped to $197/night.

NOTE: Unfortunately, as trivago had not yet entered the U.S. market when President Barack Obama was first inaugurated in January 2009, we are unable to provide hotel rates for the event.
