Halloween 2022: Our Fave Spooky Spots for a Fall Getaway
Our Fave Spooky Spots for a Fall Getaway
We all know the oh-so-popular spooky towns of Salem, Mass. and Sleepy Hollow, NY thanks to the classic Halloween flicks like “Hocus Pocus” and “The Legends of Sleepy Hollow”, but this year travelers are switching things up! According to recent trivago search data, most people are trading in spooky towns for spooky cities. See below for a few of the top destinations and terrifyingly fun activities. Make sure you also stay tuned for trivago’s full top list at the bottom!
Vegas may be known for its casinos, lavish hotels and thrilling shows, but there is much more to the city! With festive pumpkin patches/apple orchards, spine-chilling haunted museums, fun haunted harvest events and panicky escape rooms, there’s ghoulish fun for all ages! There’s no gambling on your chances of having a fun time in Vegas this Halloween!
New York City
There’s nothing quite like New York City at any time of the year, but Halloween season is one of our favorites. With show-stopping events like the Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade, the 49th annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, the stunning pumpkin arch at The Seaport and so much more, you’ll have a horrifyingly amazing time. If you can’t make it to New York this Halloween, make sure to get your fix by watching Ghostbusters! Who you gonna call for the best hotel comparison deals? TRIVAGO!
New Orleans made our 2021 list, and it’s rightfully making a repeat appearance for 2022. Probably the most haunted city of the bunch, New Orleans’ French Quarter will leave you booking your trip to this city for years to come. Take your pick of New Orleans’ official Halloween parade, VOODOOFEST, tour the haunted house decorations, or even better, do them all! Simply wandering the streets will make you feel like you’ve magically appeared in your favorite Halloween movie. Oh, and keep your eyes peeled for the set of “American Horror Story: Coven” locations!
Making another comeback from last year’s list, London is one of our top UK destinations for Halloween. London’s multiple haunted locations, Hogwarts on the Warner Bros studio tour and platform 9¾ continue to stand out on the to-do list. You can even go on a Ghost Bus Tour, traveling through the Westminster Cathedral, Tower of London and more!
Orlando + Anaheim
Last but certainly not least, Orlando and Anaheim are your kiddo-friendly Halloween destinations. You truly can’t go wrong with Disney’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Disneyland Reports with activities ranging from Halloween-themed rides to Hocus Pocus features to limited-edition treats and much more. The most terrifying part of the night will be the number of times the kids ask to come back next year!
Whether you’re visiting a spooky city, spooky town or just spookifying your home, we hope you have a safe and fun holiday.
