Join our dynamic Marketing Solutions team as a Fullstack Software Engineer and help us shape the future of our trivago Spotbox tool. trivago Spotbox is an internal tool that is helping the marketeers to have an overview over the creatives produced at trivago, and later used in TV campaigns.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide our marketing teams with high quality tools to ensure their work experience is a breeze.
  • Write clean testable code, with focus on quality and performance.
  • Participate in architecture decisions and innovative feature development tasks.
  • Combine different data storage technologies to implement efficient and high-performing data retrieval.
  • Use your creativity and problem solving skills to make a difference.
  • Work in a cross-functional team with passionate experts from various fields.

What you’ll definitely need:

  • At least 2 years’ experience with Python using Django framework.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with Angular 7 (or comparable front-end technologies).
  • Design patterns, SOLID principles and passion for Software Architecture.
  • Experience with RESTful web services.
  • A solid understanding of modern web architecture, technology and tools. 
  • Experience with advanced MySQL queries (or similar databases).
  • Experience working with Docker.
  • Willingness to develop maintainable and testable high-quality code.
  • Fluent English (our company language).

What we’d love you to have:

  • Experience with Karma/Jasmine unit test framework.
  • Experience working with Celery task queues.
  • An enjoyment of technical challenges and eagerness to explore new technologies.
  • Experience with CI using Travis, Jenkins or similar.
  • Experience with message brokers such as Kafka.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages is also appreciated. (examples: PHP, Bash, Javascript, React JS)
