Senior Content Strategy Manager

We’re looking for a Content Lead to develop and implement an overarching content strategy across trivago’s organic and owned channels that further builds the trivago brand platform. As part of the broader Brand and Partnerships team, your mission will be to develop content that helps build equity in the trivago brand and grow our organic audiences.

In this role, you’ll design and own our approach to content creation relevant to our core audiences in order to build up our organic footprint and drive brand preference. You’ll also set the direction for content publishing teams, ensure that channels deliver content that’s on-brand, differentiated and strategically targeted at growing the trivago audience and user base. 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Sharpen trivago’s brand profile through content strategy – becoming a meaningful, distinct and trusted brand to sustainably attract new and existing users.
  • Ensure that audience needs and business strategy come together in creative excellence. 
  • Design an efficient approach to running content globally, taking into account multiple geographies, trivago products and user segments.
  • Partner with owned channels to increase scale of those channels, in terms of both user acquisition and engagement, establishing and working towards clear content KPIs. 
  • Source a team consisting of in-house talent and freelancers to produce regular, relevant and timely content.
  • Research opportunities to innovate and improve business performance through content.
  • Partner with Brand Management on campaigns to roll out communications planning and briefing.
  • Build content creation briefs, working closely with internal creative production teams to deliver content assets.
  • Evaluate the quality of the output, strategically inputting where relevant to ensure the content is brief, high quality and on brand.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years in content strategy/management experience, preferably within the travel space.
  • Experience integrating content strategy with business-relevant KPIs.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills and the ability to see the human behind the data point.
  • Proactivity and experience being directly involved in the strategy, planning and programming of the brand.
  • Experience in upstream, big brand strategy (possibly with experience from creative agencies).
  • A robust, culturally connected and creative thinker who can organise ideas and workflows into a coherent brand narrative.
  • An excellent communicator who is able to manage multiple teams needs and audience insight to create engagement and brand recognition.
